President Jokowi Inspects Markets in Bogor Regency Ahead of Eid al-Adha
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected Parung Tohaga Market and Parungpung Market in Bogor Regency, West Java Province, on Wednesday (21/06/2023). During the inspection, the President wanted to ensure that the prices of stapple food remained stable ahead of Eid al-Adha.
“The price is good. The price of shallots has dropped slightly. The price of chicken meat is stable, both price for chicken farmers and consumers. The price stability is under control. Cooking oil is 14 thousand rupiahs per liter, I think this is good,” the President explained to the press at Parungpung Market.
The President emphasized that he would continue checking the prices of stapple food under control against inflation. So far, there was no price fluctuations ahead Eid al-Adha. However, it was not easy to maintain the basic necessities’ price balance.
“The price stability is under control. I keep checking it to avoid instability of stapple food price against inflation. Sometimes, the price of chicken meat and eggs fluctuates. When the price is rising, the chicken farmers are happy but the consumers will complain and vice versa for the same issue. It’s not easy to maintain the balance of stapple food prices.
On the occasion, the President also handed over business capital assistance and stapple food to market traders.
“This is business capital assistance for market traders,” the President said. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (GA/MUR)
