President Jokowi Inaugurates 12 Indonesian Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (06/26) at the State Palace, Jakarta officially inaugurated 12 Indonesian Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to friendly countries.
The appointment of these ambassadors is based on Presidential Decree Number 51/P and 55/P of 2023 on the Appointment of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia stipulated on June 14 and 23 respectively.
The twelve Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in question are as follows:
- Teuku Faizasyah, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Norway accredited to Iceland, residing in Oslo;
- Michael Trias Kuncahyono, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Holy See, residing in Vatican City;
- Achmad Rizal Purnama, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Türkiye, residing in Ankara;
- Arief, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine accredited to Republic of Armenia and Georgia, residing in Kyiv;
- Achmad Ubaedillah, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, residing in Bandar Seri Begawan;
- Santo Darmosumarto, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, residing in Phnom Penh;
- Grata Endah Werdaningtyas, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Lao People’s Democratic Republic, residing in Vientiane;
- I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Swiss Confederation accredited to the Principality of Liechtenstein, residing in Bern;
- Dupito Dorma Simamora, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Fiji accredited to the Republic of Kiribati, the Republic of Nauru and Tuvalu, residing in Suva;
- Meidyatama Suryodiningrat, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Romania accredited to the Republic of Moldova, residing in Bucharest;
- Ricky Suhendar, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Peru accredited to the Plurinational State of Bolivia, residing in Lima;
- Saud Purwanto Krisnawan, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of South Africa accredited to the Republic of Botswana, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Kingdom of Eswatini, and Southern African Development Community (SADC), residing in Pretoria.
After the decree was read out, the Head of State led the inaugurated Ambassadors to take their oaths.
“I do solemnly swear that to be appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, I will be faithful to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations correctly for the sake of my service to the nation and the state. That in carrying out my duties, I will highly uphold the ethics of my office, work to the best of my ability, with a full sense of responsibility. That I will faithfully carry out all the orders and instructions given by the Central Government and I will faithfully fulfill all the obligations borne to me as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary,” President Jokowi dictated the oath of the Ambassadors.
At the end of the ceremony, President Jokowi congratulated the newly-inaugurated ambassadors. Also attending the inaugural ceremony were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Chief of State Protocol Andy Rachmianto. (TGH/UN) (AY/EP)
