President Jokowi Orders Officials to Maintain Prudence in Budget Spending
The unqualified opinion (the highest audit rating) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) on the Government’s financial report reflected the Government’s commitment to maintaining prudence in the State Budget expenditure, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
“I remind all Cabinet Ministers and Heads of Institutions that the Government personnel in all levels must spend the State Budget properly,” the President said after receiving the audit report from the BPK.
The President also stated that the State Budget must benefit all communities.
“Compliance and administrative matters are important, but the benefit for communities is significantly more important.”
In the meantime, Chairperson of the BPK Isma Yatun said that the BPK continuously support the Government in taking effective measures to fulfill the recommendation from the BPK audit report.
“We hope that the President will continue to encourage all Cabinet Ministers, Heads of Institutions and regional governments to immediately follow up on the BPK recommendations,” Isma said.
Isma further said that the opinion received by the Government was in line with unqualified opinion on 81 financial reports of Cabinet Ministries/Institutions and one report from the State General Treasurer. (TGH/KS/UN) (RI/LW)
