President Jokowi Attends Luncheon Hosted by PNG Governor-General

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (07/05) attended a luncheon hosted by Governor-General of Papua New Guinea Bob Dadae at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

“I thank you [to the Governor-General] for the warm welcome. I would like to express my gratitude for the long-standing friendship between our two countries,” President Jokowi said in his remarks.

The President went on to say that Indonesia and Papua New Guinea are not only two neighbors, but also brothers from the same roots.

“We are wan famli (one family),” President Jokowi said while using Papua New Guinean phrase ‘Wan Famli’ that reflects unity and togetherness. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/EP)
