Food Prices Remain Stable in Sumedang, President Jokowi Says

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (07/11) inspected food commodity prices in Tanjungsari Market, Sumedang during West Java Working visit.

According to the President, prices of food at the market are relatively stable.

“I check all commodities. I am glad the price of chicken decreased to Rp38,000. Moreover, prices of shallot, chili, and others are relatively stable,” he said in a press statement after the inspection.

The Head of State also told the media that supply of food commodities at markets in Sumedang regency is sufficient.

“If the prices are stable or go down, it is an indication of sufficient supply. I have noticed that there is no problem with supply in Sumedang regency,” he added.

On that occasion, President Jokowi asserted that Indonesia inflation down from 4 percent to 3.5 percent.

“We expect the figure will further decline to under 3 [percent] by September or October,” he said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN)(RAS/EP)
