President Jokowi, First Lady Iriana to Attend Opening Ceremony of FISU Games in China

As part of his overseas working visit to the People’s Republic of China, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo are slated to attend the opening ceremony of the FISU World University Games in Chengdu.

The President began his second-day working visit by holding a meeting with a number of Chinese businessmen at the Shangri-La Hotel Chengdu. Meanwhile, the First Lady is scheduled to visit the panda breeding site at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

In the afternoon, the President and Ibu Iriana are slated to attend a luncheon held by President Xi Jinping and his spouse Madam Peng Liyuan which will also be attended by a number of other state leaders.

Afterwards, the Head of State is arranged to meet Indonesian athletes who will compete in the FISU World University Games to encourage them.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will head to Dong’an Lake Sports Stadium to attend the opening ceremony of the FISU World University Games before returning to Jakarta. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RIF/MUR)
