Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia During the Inauguration of Cigombong-Cibadak Segment of Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road at Parungkuda Toll Gate, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, August 4, 2023

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May peace be upon us all.

Distinguished Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Governor of West Java Province, Leaders of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Regent of Sukabumi, public figures, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank God, today the [construction of] 11.9-kilometer-long Cigombong-Cibadak segment of Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road is finished and it is ready to operate. The segment [construction] used a budget of Rp3.2 trillion.

And we hope with the completion of [the construction of] this road segment… if we go to Pelabuhanratu, to Ciletuh, to Ujung Genteng, to Mount Gede, which used to take five hours, sometimes six hours from Jakarta to Sukabumi, it will only take approximately 2.5 hours with this toll road.

It will increase the mobility of the people, increase the mobility of goods, and accelerate matters related to investment because from a survey taken by investors, why is West Java province on the first place for investment? The first reason is that West Java province has the most toll roads that have been constructed.

That concludes my statement and by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I officially inaugurate Cigombong-Cibadak segment of Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road in Sukabumi regency, West Java province.
