Om Swastiastu,
Namo Buddhaya,
Greetings of Virtue.

Distinguished Leaders of State Institutions;
Distinguished Cabinet Ministers;
Distinguished Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, Commander of the TNI, Chief of the Polri, Chairperson of the KPK, and Head of the BPKP;
Distinguished Chairperson of the Attorney General’s Commission, Former Attorney Generals, Officials in Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Participants of the Ceremony;

Ladies and Gentlemen,

First and foremost, to all personnel of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, I would like to congratulate you on 63rd Anniversary of Bhakti Adhyaksa Day. Your dedication to upholding the law, your dedication to upholding justice, and your dedication to the progress of Indonesia are very important for the Indonesian people.

Ladies and gentlemen,
We know that the Attorney General Office’s authority is very powerful. Once again, the Attorney General Office’s authority is very powerful: it has authority in investigation, prosecution, asset confiscation, and asset recovery. The great authority must be utilized properly, and must be used professionally and responsibly.

I am glad that the public trust in the Attorney General’s Office continues to increase. Referring to a survey in August 2022, the level of public trust in the Attorney General’s Office was 75.3 percent. That was in August 2022. Today, in July 2023, the level of public trust in the Attorney General’s Office reached 81.2%. This is a very high number, the highest number in the last nine years.

I would like to congratulate you on this anniversary. However, be cautious in maintaining and improving the public trust. It is not easy. Do not be complacent. We must maintain and improve the public trust. We must maintain and improve the public trust with better performance, synchronized and organized work, and comprehensive transformation of the institution from the central to the regional offices. We must have accountable and clean apparatus. We must improve apparatus accountability and continue to improve the public services. Personnel of Attorney General’s Office must obey the law, and must avoid being involved in illegal activities. I also convey this message to all law enforcement personnel, including the Indonesian National Police, the KPK, and inspectors and auditors at the national or regional level.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The public trust is an important factor to carry out transformation, and to drive the reform in the Attorney General’s Office in all aspects and at all levels. Improve human resource quality through selective attorney recruitment and intensive training. Improve the standards of code of conduct and attorneys’ integrity. Keep enhancing work effectiveness and optimizing information technology utilization. Facilitate the public’s access to legal services, improve information transparency, and be responsive in handling reports from the public.

The role of state attorneys is also very important in protecting the interests of the state, preventing misuse of state finance, protecting state assets, and resolving state land disputes and international trade disputes.

Let me extend my appreciation to the Attorney General’s Office for protecting state assets in the recent years. I also applaud the Attorney General’s Office for the hard work and good performance. I hope that the Attorney General’s Office will be able to continue to improve its performance and be able to maintain the public trust.

Once again, congratulations on Bhakti Adhyaksa day, I wish you all the best in your measures in upholding the law and justice, and fighting for the interests of the people and the country. Long live the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia.

I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
