President Jokowi Meets with Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo conducted a meeting with the Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (09/04). During the meeting, Klaus Schwab said that he was a big believer in ASEAN.

“He is a big believer in ASEAN, believes in ASEAN issues, the ASEAN economic growth,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi explained during the press conference after joining the meeting to accompany the President.

Moreover, Klaus Schwab also broached the importance of integrating the issue of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on economic discussions. He also invited President Jokowi to attend the 2024 World Economic Forum.

“He invites the President to attend the 2024 World Economic Forum in January at which the AI issue will be one of the priorities during the discussion,” Minister Retno said. (BPMI SETPRES/UN) (GA/MUR)
