President Jokowi Leads ASEAN-China Summit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo led the 26th ASEAN-China Summit in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, on Wednesday (09/06).
In his remarks, President Jokowi underscored the importance of trust, in order to realize concrete cooperation with mutual benefits between ASEAN and PRC.
“The trust and concrete cooperation can act as positive forces for regional stability and peace,” said the President.
The President said that PRC is one of the four ASEAN dialogue partners with comprehensive strategic partner status.
“This year is the PRC’s 20th year of accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation. We need to interpret all of this by realizing concrete cooperation with mutual benefits, which can only be done if we have mutual trust, which absolutely needs to be built and maintained by all parties,” he said.
Also accompanying the President during the opening of the 26th ASEAN-China Summit were the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, and Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan.
