President Jokowi Witnesses Swearing-in Ceremony of Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated Sahat Manor Panggabean as Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Badan Karantina Indonesia – Barantin) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (09/31) afternoon.

The inauguration was carried out based on the Decree of President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 117/TPA of 2023 on the Appointment of Senior High Ranking Officials in the Indonesian Quarantine Agency issued by the President on September 4, 2023.

Previously, Sahat has served as an Expert Staff for Connectivity Management in the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

For the record, Barantin is a government agency established based on the Presidential Regulation Number 45 of 2023. This agency has the responsibility to carry out the government duties in the field of animal, fish and plant quarantine.

Also attending the event were Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces Admiral Yudo Margono.
