The development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) was not only carried out by the Government, but also by the private enterprises, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo stated.

“The development of the Nusantara capital city is not only being carried out by the Government, but also by private enterprises,” the President said after the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vasanta Hotel in the Nusantara Capital area, East Kalimantan province, Saturday (09/23).

The hotel’s groundbreaking was the second one in the IKN area after the groundbreaking of Hotel Nusantara two days ago. President Jokowi has also carried out groundbreaking for the PSSI National Training Center and a hospital.

“Every month, we should have another groundbreaking ceremony and I will come here every month, with the schedule set by the Head of the Authority (of the IKN),” the President said.

The President expressed hope that the groundbreakings will speed up the development of the IKN, adding that more facilities and infrastructure projects will be built in the IKN, including hotels, hospitals, universities and zoos.

At the end of his statement, the President extended his appreciation to investors making investment in the IKN.

“Let me express my appreciation to the investors who have invested their capital. I think they make investment here based on prudent calculation because they definitely aim to make a profit,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RI/LW)
