President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Based on the schedule and target [date], I think the construction is on track. After the rain, I hope we can start to plant grass and endemic plant species of Kalimantan so it can be ready for next year’s ceremony for Independence Day. The twin Banyan trees (ficus benjamina) are the symbol of divinity.

We will also create a green environment by planting flowers and red and white flowers, particularly in the palace. It will be well designed. After observing on the ground, I realize that it has a well-planned design and detailed planning.

Journalist
Where will be the location for the ceremony ground?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

The area that is in white and green [plastic] cover can be used to accommodate 8,000 people for ceremony. The grounds are twice the size of the palace in Jakarta with a capacity of 8,000 people.

Journalist
It will be next year, correct?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes.

Journalist
How about the construction of government compounds that are sourced from the State Budget?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

There is no issue. You can ask Minister of Finance. There’s no issue. I think there is no difficulty in allocating the budget for building basic infrastructures, particularly the palace and ministry offices. In addition, we want to encourage private and business sectors to start infrastructure projects, including universities, hospitals, malls, entertainment centers, and restaurants. We will promote them to draw crowd that will enliven the Nusantara.

Journalist
What is your next schedule today, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

There will be a groundbreaking of Indonesian Football Association (PSSI)’s camp, the National Training Center for football. The training center will be equipped with six or eight football pitches and we hope it can improve Indonesia national football team’s achievement. Next schedule is the groundbreaking of hospital, while tomorrow the groundbreaking of hotel.

Thank you.
