President Jokowi Kicks Off Working Visit to China, Saudi Arabia
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (10/16) took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang city, Banten regency to kick off working visit to People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Saudi Arabia.
In China, the President is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of PRC Xi Jinping on Oktober 17 and attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in the next day. President Jokowi will also meet PM Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji.
“Some major issues that will be discussed are the enhancements of Indonesian export and investment, as well as the development of food security,” the President stated.
After completing his visit to China, the President will then depart for Saudi Arabia to chair the 1st ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) Summit with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman.
“Several cooperation with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that will be addressed are the improvement of economic and investment cooperation, guarantee for halal energy products, and the establishment of supreme coordination council,” the President said.
President Jokowi and entourage is slated to head back to Indonesia on October 21, 2023. (TGH/SYR/DNS) (SI/EST)
