President Jokowi, First Lady Iriana Arrive in Saudi Arabia
After taking off from Beijing Capital International Airport, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo Wednesday (10/18) arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The Garuda Indonesia GIA-I aircraft that carried President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana landed at the airport at around 23:25 local time.
Welcoming the President and First Lady were Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Ahmad and his spouse, Indonesian Defense Attaché in Riyadh Brig. Gen. Putut Witjaksono Hadi, Minister of Commerce and Investment of Saudi Arabia Majed bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Governor of Riyadh region Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Mayor of Riyadh region Prince Faishal bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammen bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, and Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi.
From the airport, President Jokowi, Ibu Iriana, and their entourage headed to the hotel where they would be staying during the visit to Riyadh.
In Riyadh, the President is scheduled to attend the ASEAN-GCC Summit that will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and hold a bilateral meeting with PM of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (SI/DH)
