New Ambassadors Share Commitment to Bolster Cooperation with Indonesia

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (10/23) at the Merdeka Palace received Letters of Credence from twelve Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of friendly countries.

On that occasion, some ambassadors shared their views and commitment to further bolster bilateral cooperation in various sectors between their respective countries and Indonesia.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Designate) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Indonesia, Dominic James Robert Jermey said that friendship between the two countries is built on a long history. He also affirmed commitment to enhance bilateral ties on trade sector, investment, climate change, and education.

“I know that Indonesian human resources became the top priority of President Joko Widodo. Therefore, I will also prioritize cooperation on education. I highly anticipate our next collaboration and I am ready to work together with partners from Sabang to Merauke,” he said.

In the meantime, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Designate) of the Slovak Republic to Indonesia, Tomáš Ferko said that Indonesia and Slovakia have been establishing many successful cooperation between people, institutions, and businesses. He also expressed hope that both countries can enhance their cooperation in the future.

“In the future, I would like to see that we know each other better, trust each other more, and that we have more cooperation, establish more successful cooperation based on good ideas and innovation,” he said.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Designate) of the Kingdom of Sweden to Indonesia, Daniel Blockert said that he really enjoyed Jakarta as a big city.

“If there is something that I really want to do is to get a sense of countryside living out of Jakarta. This is such a huge nation, such a diverse nation, so I really hope to travel and would like to see what Indonesia could offer,” he added. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RAS/LW)
