President Jokowi inaugurates Agus Subiyanto as Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/25).

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (10/25) inaugurated Lt. Gen. Agus Subiyanto as Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 89/TNI of 2023 on the Discharge and Appointment of the Army Chief of Staff.

“I do solemnly swear that I will bear allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will execute all laws and regulations in the fairest way possible for the service to the state and the nation. That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold professional code of conduct, work to the best of my ability, with a full sense of responsibility and that I will uphold the soldier’s oath,” the President said, dictating the oath of office to Agus Subiyanto.

Agus Subiyanto was inaugurated to replace General Dudung Abdurachman who is set to retire in November  2023. For the record, he was previously Vice Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army. (MAY/UN) (SI/RAS)
