Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia won three awards at the level of Ministries/Institutions, Higher Education Institutions, State-Owned Enterprises/Region-Owned Enterprises, State-Owned Higher Education Institutions, at the 2023 Public Relations Media Awards. The awards were presented on the evening of the 2023 Public Relations Media Awards held by the Ministry of Communication and Information at the Westin Hotel, Surabaya, East Java, Monday (10/30).

The awards won by the Cabinet Secretariat were in the categories of Website (2nd place), Internal Media Publishing (2nd place), and Audiovisual Media (3rd place).

Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong, stated that the 16th Public Relations Media Awards in 2023 carries the theme “Public Relations in Synergy for the Advancement of the Country”.

“These awards are a form of appreciation for the success of public communication and public relations’ support for ministries and institutions, regional governments, state-owned enterprises, and higher education institutions in making the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia successful,” said Usman.

According to Usman, international standard events that Indonesia hosts are actually opportunities for public relations to show their existence and important role in building Indonesia’s image.

“Such opportunities will not only attract the world citizens’ attention, but at the same time we can also raise public trust level in our own country,” said Usman.

Usman added that Indonesia’s good reputation should be the goal or mission of the Government’s public relations work. Nation Branding is the ultimate goal of public relations work in international events. Furthermore, he urged public relations people to leave behind role exclusivity and set aside sectoral egos. “For the sake of our country’s advancement, let’s strengthen synergy between government agencies so that our voice in the public domain will be unified. Indonesia will be known as a friendly, dignified country and has a lot of potential for future investment and cooperation,” explained Usman.

Also present at the event were Adhy Karyono, Regional Secretary of East Java Province, representing Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Sherlita Ratna Dewi Agustin, Head of the East Java Communications and Information Service, public relations officials and 400 other invited guests.

In the 2023 Public Relations Media Awards, six categories of public relations media were contested, namely social media, press releases, websites, public communication campaigns, internal media publications (In-house Magazines), and audio visual media.
