President Jokowi Leads Groundbreaking Ceremony of Nusantara Intercultural School

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (11/01) led the groundbreaking ceremony of Nusantara Intercultural School (NIS) in North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.

“Such school to be constructed at Nusantara Capital shows the Government’s commitment to providing various supporting facilities for the city, including providing international standard and world-class educational institutions,” President Jokowi said.

The President expressed hope that NIS will be able to provide a world-class education system for children.

“Also, providing quality education options for Nusantara Capital residents who come from various regions, countries, and backgrounds,” he added.

On that occasion, the Head of State also shared a number of parents’ concerns on children’s education at Nusantara Capital and expressed appreciation for Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS) that is willing to address these concerns by building NIS.

“On this good opportunity, I would like extend my gratitude to JIS. This is the first international school to be established in Nusantara Capital,” President Jokowi remarked. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (GWH/MMB)
