President Jokowi Kicks Off Elementary School Revamp in East Kalimantan

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (11/01) attended a groundbreaking ceremony of the revamp of State Elementary School 020 Sepaku, North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.

In his remarks, President Jokowi expressed his appreciation for the school revamp as part of measures to improve the quality of education.

“The school will have classrooms, science lab, computer lab, library, amphitheater, canteen, reading room, multifunctional field, green area, conservation pond, and other supporting facilities,” the President said.

President Jokowi went on to say that improvement of education in the area of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is not only carried out at State Elementary School 020 Sepaku, but also at five other elementary schools.

“Thus, our children can access high quality education with high quality facilities,” the President stated.

The President also applauded Astra Education Foundation for improving the quality of education in the IKN area, expressing hope that the projects will provide extensive benefits to the community, especially children.

Also accompanying the President at the event were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Ad Interim Erick Thohir, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim, Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and East Kalimantan Governor Ad Interim Akmal Malik.
