President Jokowi Conveys Condolences on the Demise of the Late Doni Monardo

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo felt grief and expressed his condolences on the demise of Lieutenant General of Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) (Ret.) Doni Monardo, former Head of National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) for 2019-2021 period. President Jokowi also prayed that Allah grants the departed the highest place.

“I would like to extend, on behalf of myself and the Government, a deep condolences to all of the family of General Doni Monardo. May Allah accepts his soul, grants him the highest place, forgives all his sins,” the President said in his press statement at the Merdeka Palace’s yard, Jakarta, Monday (12/04).

The late Doni Monardo passed away at the age of 60 years old on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at about 17.35 Western Indonesian Time at Siloam Hospital, Jakarta.

Throughout his career, the late Doni Monardo had carried out his duties as Commander of Presidential Security Details (Paspampres) for the period of 2012-2014, Commander General of Special Forces Command (Kopassus), Commander of Military Regional Command (Pangdam) XVI/Pattimura, and Pangdam III/Siliwangi, as well as Chairperson of the Task Force for COVID-19 Handling in March 2020.
