President Jokowi Inspects Basic Commodities Prices at Rogojampi Market
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (12/27) paid a visit to Rogojampi Market, Banyuwangi regency, East Java province to inspect the prices of basic commodities.
Upon arriving at the market, President Jokowi visited some kiosks, and asked the sellers about the commodities prices, such as that of chili, onion, and rice.
Siti, one of the sellers, said that the President asked her about the chili price.
Siti said that the price of small chili is Rp75,000 and big chili of Rp50,000, and it has lowered from previously Rp100,000 per kilogram. “Hopefully basic commodities prices can continue to lower,” she said.
Meanwhile, Nina, a basic commodities seller, said that the President also checked the rice price and the stock of market price supply stabilization (SPHP) rice distributed by the State Logistics Agency (Bulog). She explained that the distribution of SPHP rice at the market is well ordered, and it is helpful for the people to buy rice amid the increasing rice price.
