President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (01/17) warmly welcomed the inaugural broadcast from state-run broadcaster Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Mini Studio at the housing facility for construction workers in Indonesia’s new capital Nusantara, North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.

According to the President, RRI broadcasts could effectively disseminate information about the ongoing development of IKN to citizens across the country.

“I am so glad that we have RRI studio in the IKN. RRI will serve as a medium to inform the development in the IKN, including tree planting and infrastructure development. People throughout the country need to hear about developments in the IKN,” the President said.

On that occasion, the President extended greetings to listeners in several regions and expressed hope that every development in the IKN can be broadcast to people from various corners of Indonesia.

“The most important thing is all Indonesians be informed about the progress and developments in the IKN, from those on the border to those in Aceh, Papua, and everywhere, ensuring everyone is aware of the advancements in IKN development and other important information,” he said.

In the inaugural broadcast, the President also shared updates on the development of various infrastructures in IKN such as government offices and hotels.

With this extensive infrastructure, the Head of State expressed optimism about hosting the 79th Indonesian Independence Commemoration Ceremony in the IKN.

“We are optimistic that, insyaAllah, on August 17, we will be able to hold the flag-raising ceremony in the IKN to commemorate the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RIF/EP)
