Muntilan-Keningar Road Reconstruction Receives Residents Appreciation

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (01/22) in Magelang regency, Central Java province, accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo inaugurated a road reconstruction project of Regional Roads Section Muntilan-Keningar in the implementation of the President Instruction.

After the inauguration, a number of local residents expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation.

Ani, a resident, said that the newly-repaired road benefits her and other people. In the case of a Mount Merapi eruption, she added, the roads will make evacuation process easier.

“Thank God, the roads that used to have potholes are now repaired. Thus, it improves access to economic [activities]. If Mount Merapi erupts, we can evacuate residents efficiently,” she said.

Another resident, Sumedi, who owns a restaurant in the Muntilan-Keningar section, said that the road reconstruction will bring considerable benefits, including boosting his small business. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RAS/EP)
