President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (01/29) inaugurated the Graha Utama Building of the Military Academy in Magelang regency, Central Java province.

“The construction of Graha Utama, covering an area of 8,068 square meters, is part of modern educational facilities and infrastructure at the Military Academy,” the President said.

The President explained that the global economic and political landscape is currently changing, so that the Military Academy should adapt to the disruption and technological change.

“Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are important. Nowadays, unmanned vessels, unmanned aircraft, unmanned cars, and drones with facial recognition are ubiquitous,” the President said.

President Jokowi expressed hope that the Graha Utama will become the center of excellence for academic activities and military activities in the country.

“I hope that the facilities will make Military Academy more advanced, and produce professional soldiers fully dedicated to maintaining national unity and sovereignty for an advanced Indonesia,” the President remarked. (BPMI SETPRES/ABD) (RI/MUR)
