Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Muntilan-Keningar Regional Road Section Based on the Presidential Instruction in Magelang Regency, Central Province, January 22, 2024

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Distinguished Ministers, Acting Governor of Central Java, Regent of Magelang.

Ladies and Gentlemen.

The budget of the regional road in Indonesia based on the Presidential Instruction in 2023 reached Rp14.6 trillion. The Government has set aside a budget of Rp1.36 trillion to repair and build 40 road sections in Central Java province. In Magelang regency alone, four road sections spanning 18.2 kilometers have been inaugurated with a budget of Rp31.9 billion.

The Muntilan-Keningar, Sukomakmur road section is an evacuation access for people around Mount Merapi. So, I have inspected it and today it has been completed. It is our hope that the road section built with rigid concrete can be more durable considering that it is often passed by large sand trucks. Once again, it is our hope that the road will be durable and that other roads in Central Java province will be better. Thus, I will inspect other roads in the province.

That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, hereby I inaugurate Muntilan-Keningar, Sukamakmur Regional Road Sections as evacuation access around Mount Merapi and Petung and Pakis Regional Road Sections based on the Presidential Instruction in Magelang regency.
