President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday inaugurated the Duplication of Kapuas 1 Bridge in West Kalimantan provincial capital of Pontianak.

“This morning, thank God, the Duplication of Kapuas 1 Bridge has been completed and we will inaugurate it,” he said.

For the record, the bridge, with a length of 430 meters and a width of 8 meters, was constructed with a budget of Rp275 billion.

The President expressed hope that the infrastructure can enhance the connectivity in Pontianak and its surrounding areas.

“It will increase regional activities in downtown Pontianak city and East Pontianak district,” he remarked.

Joining the President at the inauguration were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Acting Governor of West Kalimantan Harrison. (TGH/UN) (DH/LW)
