President Jokowi Inspects Medical Devices Availability at H. Hanafie Muara Bungo Hospital in Jambi Province
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (04/04) inspected the availability of medical devices and infrastructure at H. Hanafie Muara Bungo General Regional Hospital in Bungo regency, Jambi province.
“I wanted to see the equipment, medical devices that the central Government has provided through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) and the Ministry of Health. [I wanted to ensure that they] are truly functional and useful for the people,” he said in his press statement following the inspection.
The President pointed out that the medical devices, including cath lab, mammography, and CT scan equipment at the hospital work properly and the hospital also employs several medical specialists.
“It still lacks MRI machines. We will try to provide them shortly for Muara Bungo Regional Hospital this year,” he said, adding that the capacity of treatment rooms and hospital beds at the hospital is inadequate.
“There needs to be a construction to increase the hospital’s capacity because it not only serves Muara Bungo but also Dharmasraya, Merangin, Tebo, and other regions,” he said.
The President underscored that the Government would focus on evaluating and improving the infrastructure of H. Hanafie Muara Bungo Hospital, adding that he has ordered the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono to immediately send a team to the site.
“I ordered the Minister of Public Works to send a team here because the detail engineering design is available and to decide whether it needs to be revised or redone. It will be checked once the team is here,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (DH/MMB)
