President Jokowi Wishes Happy Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana wished Indonesian muslims a happy Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri.
“Happy Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri. We apologize for any sins and mistakes,” the President said in a video uploaded on official YouTube of Cabinet Secretariat.
President Jokowi also extended prayers and hopes for all Muslims in the country to forgive each other and maintain good relations.
“To maintain good relations and realize a harmonious and peaceful nation, be united to build Indonesia,” said the President.
He also conveyed a message to the people who are and will be returning to their hometown for Eid. He expressed hope that the people’s journey during this Eid annual exodus (mudik) will be smooth and safe.
“Have a good time with relatives and extended family. I wish you a smooth and safe journey,” said the President.
“May Allah SWT grant His blessings and always guide and protect us all,” added Mrs. Iriana.
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung also interprets Eid al-Fitr as a momentum to strengthen ties among Indonesian society.
Eid al-Fitr is a day to celebrate victories, whether personal, community or collective. The most important of Eid al-Fitr is maintaining harmony, maintaining friendship, love, togetherness, and also forgiving each other,” said Pramono.
Furthermore, the Cabinet Secretary also expressed hope that during this Eid, the people could stay in touch in an atmosphere full of happiness.
