Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia On Inauguration of Tiu Suntuk Dam in West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, May 2, 2024

Good morning, peace be upon us all.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen;

Beloved children,

Due to climate change, in the future water will be the key to our lives. Once again, water is very important for our lives, especially in West Nusa Tenggara, both for agriculture, for raw water and drinking water.

Therefore, in the past ten years, the Government has built seven dams in West Nusa Tenggara, the most is in West Nusa Tenggara. The Tiu Suntuk Dam is one of the large dams. The Tiu Suntuk Dam, located in West Sumbawa regency, costs Rp1.4 trillion. Its capacity is 60.8 million cubic meters. It will hold that much of water, which is a huge amount. It will irrigate 1900 hectares of land and produce 680 liters per second of raw water . It will also be able to reduce flooding around West Sumbawa.

By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim this morning, I inaugurate the Tiu Suntuk Dam in West Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara province.
