As part of his working visit to Southeast Sulawesi province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (05/14) inspected the Konawe regional general hospital in Konawe regency.

“I noted that rooms and the garden landscape are in excellent shape. Also, the sunlight can enter the rooms,” President Jokowi said.

The President also appreciated Konawe Regent’s bold step in looking for alternative financing for Konawe Hospital development, which was built through a loan from state-owned infrastructure financing company PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur.

“Since the regional fiscal budget is not sufficient, the regent proposed for a loan,” he added.

President Jokowi also stated that the hospital is scheduled to receive several state-of-the-art medical equipment such as mammograms, CT scans and cauterization labs in the near future.

On the occasion, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin also told the journalist on the simplification of the Healthcare and Social Security (BPJS Kesehatan) services.

“We are not eliminating classes, but raising the quality and simplified the steps. Previously, there was three class, but now only two remains and I hope that it would be simpler in serving the people,” the Minister said. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/LW)
