President Jokowi Hosts 10th 2024 WWF Gala Dinner
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Sunday (05/19) hosted a Welcoming Gala Dinner of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) under the theme of “Water for Shared Prosperity” at Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park in Bali.
The President and other heads of state were seen to wear shirts made of traditional woven Sintang from West Kalimantan, while the Ministers wore shirts made of traditional woven fabric Endek from Bali.
On that occasion, President Jokowi expressed hope that the WWF would give rise to a collective effort to improve environmental cleanliness and public health.
“I hope our spirit of togetherness tonight will lead us to significant collaboration to ensure access to clean water and sanitation for everyone,” he said.
For the record, the dishes served at the 10th WWF’s Welcoming Gala Dinner came from various regions acrosss Indonesia, including Aceh, Kudus, Lombok, Palu, Manado, and Bali.
The menu featured pan-seared scallops, beef soup soto kudus and garangasem, belancang beef tenderloin, pepes kembang tahu (roasted skin tofu wrapped in banana leaf), corn soup binte, buntil (traditional vegetables wrapped in papaya leaves), klappertaart, and fresh tropical fruit.
While enjoying dinner, all guests consisting of 2,300 invitees were accompanied by music and dance performances showcasing traditional Indonesian culture. (TGH/DNS) (AP/EP)
