President Jokowi Pays Tribute to Late Wife of Cleric Luthfi

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (05/29) paid the last respect to Syarifah Salma, at the funeral home in Pekalongan city, Central Java province.

She was the daughter of Hasyim, granddaughter of Yahya, the late spouse of preacher and member of the Presidential Advisory Board (Wantimpres) Muhammad Luthfi

Upon arrival at the funeral home around 11.05 Western Indonesia Time, President Jokowi was greeted by Luthfi’s eldest son, Baha’udin Al-Alawi, and took the time to converse with family members and offered prayers for their strength and patience during these trying times.

The late Syarifah Salma passed away at the age of 66 on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024, at Budi Rahayu Hospital in Pekalongan city, at around 9:55 PM Western Indonesia Time. As the wife of Muhammad Luthfi, she often accompanied him during his preaching and in his duties as member of Wantimpres.

Syarifah Salma’s deceased is scheduled for burial in the family cemetery at the Maqbarah Sapuro Complex in Pekalongan city today, Wednesday, May 29, at approximately 2:00 PM Western Indonesia Time. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RIF/RAS/LW)
