Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia on the Inauguration of Margatiga Dam, East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province, August 26, 2024

Ladies and Gentlemen,
My beloved children.
Good morning,
In the future, water will become an extremely pivotal element in our life. Thus, water management in all provinces will be the focus of the Government. First, to meet the needs of our daily life. Second, for irrigation to water rice fields. Third, to reduce floods in the flood-prone areas.
The Margatiga Dam has been constructed since 2017, meaning that the construction has been going on for seven years. Today, alhamdulillah, the Dam can start its operation. The Dam, which spent a budget of Rp846 billion, has an inundation area of 2,313 hectares and a capacity of 42 million cubic meters of water. This is very huge.
I hope the 44th government-built Dam in the past ten years can provide real benefit to the people, for irrigation, clean water supply, electricity and reduce floods in flood-prone areas. I also hope that the farmers’ productivity can increase significantly.
That concludes my remarks. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I inaugurate Margatiga Dam in East Lampung regency, Lampung province.
