Visiting Garut, President Jokowi Inaugurates Cheap Market of 7 SOEs

President Jokowi handed food packages on the inauguration of cheap market of 7 SOEs, in Garut, West Java, on Sunday (5/7)

After inaugurating the Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Kamojang, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) launched, the cheap market of Ramadan 1436 H in Korem of Tarumanagara Field, Garut, Sunday (5/7).

Cheap market Ramadan 1436 H is a form of SOEs participation in developing of community economic. Cheap market was held on synergies from 7 (seven) SOEs, namely: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk., PT Bank BTN (Persero) Tbk ., PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. and PT Pegadaian (Persero).

As a sign of the inauguration, President Jokowi officially opened the cheap market of staple food in synergies of 7 SOEs.

“By saying Bismillahirahmanirrahim , the cheap market of basic food in synergies of 7 SOEs, I declare opened,” President Jokowi said.

Furthermore, the President conduct a review into booths of the cheap market. At the time of reviewing stand of PT Pegadaian (Persero), President Jokowi accompanied by the Managing Director of Pegadaian Riswinandi launched Gold Savings Book, marked by the handing Savings Book to customer representatives of PT Pegadaian (Persero).

Minister of SOEs Rini Soemarno in the report said, this cheap market is the first that realized through synergies of 7 SOEs, so that it can serve 200 thousand people with a package worth Rp 150 thousand to only pay Rp 50 thousand.

According to Rini, Cheap market activities held at 190 points ranging from Banda Aceh to Manokwari

In addition to organizing the cheap market, according to Rini, synergy of 7 SOEs will also organize homecoming together with SOEs on 12- July 14, and will dispatch 75 thousand passengers to 60 cities in Java and Sumatra.

 Other synergies in celebrating Ramadan and IdulFfitri, Minister of SOEs continued, will be given the train tickets discount by PT KAI and giving cash back and top up voucher for homecomers who is basically synergy and cooperation PT KAI and the new joint with Telkom.

Attending the event that the Board of Directors of 7 SOEs that involved the cheap market, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Indroyono Susilo, Minister of SOEs Rini Soemarno, Ministry of Trade Rahmat Gobel, and Vice Governor of West Java Dedy Mizwar.  (SM/AGG/ES)
