President Jokowi Kicks Off Working Visit to South Kalimantan, North Sumatera, and Jambi

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo,  accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Widodo and a number of ministers of the Working Cabinet, from Wednesday (23/9) to Friday (25/9) afternoon begins his working visit to three provinces:South Kalimantan, North Sumatera, and Jambi,

 Presidential Communication Team, Sukardi Rinakit in his press release on Wednesday (23/9) morning said that the President and his entourage would fly to South Kalimantan province on Presidential Aircraft Boeing Business Jet (BBJ-2).

The plane is scheduled to take off from Air Force Base Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, on Wednesday morning at 08.00 a.m. and it is scheduled to arrive at Syamsuddin Noor Airport, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, at 11.10 a.m Central Indonesian Time.

“The President and the entourage will visit Disaster Management Shelter of Heavy Air Pollution in the Airport area,” Sukardi Rinakit said in the press release.

Still in South Kalimantan, the President is also slated to visit the location of hot spots in Guntung Damar Village, Banjarbaru, whereheis expected to brief soldiers and firemen there. Afterwards, the President is scheduled to visit another hot spot location in Sambung Lihung, Banjar Regency. In the evening, the President and the entourage is scheduled to head to Banjarmasin Sabilal Muhtadin Mosque to attend the takbiran (Idul Adha eve) procession.

On Thursday (24/9), President Jokowi and the entourage will perform Idul Adha prayer in Great Mosque of Al-Karomah Martapura, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan (not in Banjarmasin Sabilal Muhtadin Mosque, as informed previously). There,the President will also give sacrificial animals here.

From South Kalimantan, the President and his entourage are scheduled to fly to Syamsuddin Noor Airport to continue working visit to Medan, North Sumatera.

“On the way to the airport, the President and his entourage will also visit the development of a  project in Banjar Botanical Garden in Banjarbaru,” Sukardi noted.

Regarding working visit to Medan, North Sumatera, Presidential Communication Team Sukardi Rinakit said that the President would directly visitSiosar Village, Merek Sub-district, Karo Regency in the area of Mount Sinabung.

Sukardi said that President Jokowi has signed a Presidential Regulation Number 21 of 2015 on a Task Force for Accelerating the Relocation of Victims Affected by the Eruption of Mount Sinabung in Karo Regency, North Sumatera Province.

“The President visits Karo Regency because he wants to ensure that the Presidential Regulation that has just been signed is implemented well. He also hopes that the handling of (residents displaced by the eruption of Mount Sinabung) can be finished by the end of 2015,” Sukardi stated.

On Friday (25/9), President Joko Widodo is scheduled to visit the construction of a toll road connecting Medan, Kualanamu and Tebing Tinggi. After that, the President is set to return to Medan by Airport Railink Services Train.

After Friday prayer, the President and his entourage will take off to Jambi, where they are scheduled to visit the shelter of Disaster Management Task Force for Heavy Air Pollution. After that, he is set to visit Muaro Jambi to monitor the latest condition of the forest fire there.From Jambi, the President will monitor the latest development of the forest fire in the area of Sumatera.

 “If the situation improves, the President and his entourage will return to Jakarta on Friday (25/9) afternoon,” Sukardi noted.

However, he said, if the situation on the ground does not improve yet, the President will stay in Jambi for one night and visit another hot spot location in the following day in the border between Jambi and Riau Province by land. Afterwards, the President and the entourage will return to Jakarta.

Accompanying President Widodo during the working visit are Minister of Education and Culture Anis Baswedan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Commander of the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) Com.
