MoFA: Denmark – RI, Improving the Pluralism Dialogue and Signed the Energy Cooperation

President and First Lady Iriana Jokowi received the visit of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Consort from Denmark, at  Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (22/10) afternoon

The visit of Queen Margrethe II from Denmark, accompanied by the Prince Consort is the first state visit of the Head of State Denmark conducted after a 65-year relationship with Indonesia.

“So since we opened diplomatic relations, this is the first time their state visit to Indonesia. Today it is one of the biggest, it means today they bring a lot of entrepreneurs, a total of 99, “said Minister of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Retno Marsudi to reporters at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (22/10) afternoon.

About interfaith dialogue, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, because Indonesia is the largest Muslim country, but at the same time can develop into the large democratic country.

Minister of Foreign Affairs added that Indonesia also adopted the values of tolerance and pluralism, and expand it to other countries, to provide essential understanding from the value of tolerance pluralism and so on.

Minister of Foreign Affairs explained in a series of visits to Indonesia, the Queen of Denmark Margrethe II will visit the Istiqlal Mosque and Cathedral Church.

As in the field of energy, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the two countries discussed on the renewable energy and energy efficient. In the field of maritime discussed the development of aqua culture, and the last in the field of education to discuss about cooperation between universities.

On cooperation in the field of energy, the Minister explained, existing projects are wind energy in Sumba. “We want to develop energy renewable that included in energy efficiency,” he said.

In terms of cooperation in the fields of maritime, according to Retno, is about infrastructure, connectivity, up to the development of aqua culture as well as other efforts. “So the scope is immense,” Retno said. The fourth is about education because we have run educational cooperation with the very well advanced, and so far, there are 14 cooperation among universities that took place in Indonesia and Denmark.
