Leaving for Turkey, President Jokowi Attend G20 Summit

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Saturday (14/11) morning at 10:20 am, take off from the Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport, using the Presidential Plane, Indonesia-1 departed to Antalya, Turkey, to attend the G -20.

In a press statement President Jokowi said, the implementation of the G-20 summit is very important because currently the global economy facing a heavy challenges, marked by volatility in global financial markets that higher, and the decrease in commodity prices in the world market. Hence, the President considers it is important to attend the G-20 summit.

In the summit on the theme “Ensuring Inclusive Growth and Robust through Collective Action”, Indonesia will encourage the reform of global financial architecture, as released by the President Jokowi at the Asian-African Summit on last April.

In addition, according to the President, we also want to continue to push the world economic growth sustainable and equitable the world economic order.

Other global issues that will be discussed in the G-20 summit in Turkey, on the issue of climate change. In this meeting, Indonesia will affirm its commitment to carry out joint action in facing the climate change.

“Indonesia will also emphasize the importance of renewable energy resources of the world,” President Jokowi said.

President Jokowi also mentioned that, as the largest Muslim country and the world’s third largest democratic country, Indonesia would convey the best experience in managing the plurality.

In addition, Indonesia will also deliver as an example how to build the harmony between Islam and democracy.

On the sidelines of the implementation of the G20 summit, according to the plan, President Jokowi will also hold several bilateral meetings with Heads of State/Government of the G-20.
