Visit President Jokowi, President of PRC Committed to Add the Assistance of 20 Billion Dollars

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received a visit of President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jingping, at Hotel IC Santai, Antalya, Turkey, which is the President Jokowi stay during the Summit of the G-20, in Antalya, Turkey, on Sunday (15 / 11) 15:45 Local Time or approximately at 20.45 pm.

President Communications Team Ari Dwipayana in a press release on Sunday (15/11) night expressed, in a meeting held on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, the two leaders agreed to increase cooperation in the field of economics and finance. In addition, also discussed a number of global financial issues, which concern with the G-20 summit this time.

“President Jokowi welcomes the commitment of the Government of the PRC to assist the Indonesian financial sector through funding for Indonesian banks and liquidity support,” Ari said.

In addition, President Jinping conveyed the readiness of the Government of the PRC to improve the Bilateral Currency Swap Arrangement that was given to Indonesia to be about 20 billion dollars.

Ari Dwipayana said, on that occasion President Jokowi also requested the support of President Jinping that the competent Indonesian officials be able to enter in the top management of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as well as Indonesia’s desire to put AIIB first regional office in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, related to global issues, President Jokowi conveyed the Indonesia’s plan to push forthe reform of global financial architecture in the G-20, as it has been delivered at the time of the Asian-African Conference.

“This reform is needed immediately to create a balance in the international financial system between the developed and developing countries,” said President Jokowi as quoted by President Communications Team Ari Dwipayana. (EN/ES)
