Extraordinary OIC Summit Begins Today

The series of 5th Extraordinary OIC Summit on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif began today (6/3), at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta.

The Summit was preceded by Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM), which discussed two drafts as the result of this conference, namely resolution and declaration. This meeting will be held until 12:00 a.m. Afterward, there will be a Ministerial Meeting to be held at 2 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.

At night, at the same place, President Joko Widodo will host the delegates on welcoming dinner in honor of the Heads of Delegation of Extraordinary OIC Summit participants.

In addition to the dinner, President Jokowi is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prince of Jordan Prince El Hassan Bin Talal.

As reported earlier, during a monitoring of the preparation of the Extraordinary OIC Summit, on Friday (5/3) afternoon, President Jokowi said that this Summit is a form of full and consistent support for the Palestinians. “Indonesia was chosen because we are one of the peaceful countries” said the President.
