Muhammad Daffa Raasyid, a student at the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) Junior High School (SRMP) 11, West Bandung, West Java, sent a letter to President Prabowo Subianto via Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

“It is a letter, a meaningful piece of paper. From Muhammad Daffa Raasyid, a student at the Sekolah Rakyat Junior High School (SRMP) 11, West Bandung, to President Prabowo,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said in a written statement on Friday (10/24).

The letter was written by Daffa on October 17, on President Prabowo’s birthday.

“On this beautiful day, I would like to wish you, Mr. President, a happy 74th birthday. I wish that you always stay healthy and you can visit us at SRMP 11 West Bandung someday,” Daffa wrote.

In his letter, Daffa also expressed his gratitude for Sekolah Rakyat program run by President Prabowo’s government. This school allows Daffa and his friends to return to school and bring back their hopes for a better future.

“Thank you, Pak Prabowo, for establishing this Sekolah Rakyat so that my friends and I can go back to school. This school will shape us into creative and intelligent children with leadership qualities like you. Perhaps in the next ten years, we will be successful and able to build this country. Please, wait for us, Sir,” Daffa said.

A letter from Daffa is a reminder that behind every education policy lies the great hope of Indonesia’s young generation who continue to grow—welcoming the future with knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for their homeland.

The Sekolah Rakyat program is President Prabowo’s grand vision to break the cycle of poverty through equitable and quality education. To date, around 166 Sekolah Rakyat have been established in various regions across Indonesia, providing access to education for 15,945 students from underprivileged families, classified as deciles 1 and 2 according to the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN).

“We designed Sekolah Rakyat as an effort to break the cycle of poverty. The children of the poor or the grandchildren of the poor should not remain poor. We must have the courage to change; we must have the courage to break the cycle of poverty. We must not give in to circumstances,” President Prabowo emphasized at the Plenary Cabinet Meeting for one year of his administration, Monday (10/20).
