In a bid to provide legal certainty over the ownership of the land to the public, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Hadi Tjahjanto ordered all provincial offices of BPN to speed up PTSL (Comprehensive Systematic Land Registration) program.

“Based on the President’s order, PTSL program will be speeded up. The tasks must be completed. I have set a target to issue all certificates by 2024. Once it completes, certificates will cover geospatial data, borders, surface area, and coordinates [of plot of land],” Hadi said on Wednesday (06/22).

He went on to say that certificates will prevent overlapping land claims and land mafia practices.

The Minister added that he also strives to eradicate land mafia through synergy and coordination with the national and regional police chiefs. The effort was made to protect the right of land ownership of the people. (Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/UN) (RAS/LW)
