On the sidelines of the 2023 Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit, Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (10/11) at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) held a bilateral meeting with Premier of Niue Dalton Emani Makamau Tagelagi.

During the meeting, President Jokowi thanked the Premier for attending the summit and the Indonesia-Pacific Forum for Development (IPFD) last year.

“I noticed that Your Excellency was present and showed support to Indonesia at the Indonesia-Pacific Forum for Development – a forum that is aimed at promoting economic cooperation and development partnership in the Pacific region in December 2022,” the President said.

In response, Premier Tagelagi said that he is delighted to be in Indonesia to attend the summit.

He added that he is impressed with the diversity of Indonesia and President Jokowi’s leadership that has successfully managed to unite archipelagic and island states to solve common challenges.

“Once again, it is great to be here with your leadership and vision that unite all small islands and I am sure it becomes a great hope and shows great leadership from you to unite us all here,” the Premier said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT)(RAS/EP)
