Arrives in Abu Dhabi, President Joko Widodo Welcomed by Crown Prince of UAE
President Joko Widodo was welcomed by the Crown Prince of UAE Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, when arriving at Abu Dhabi International Airport, United Arab Emirates, Sunday (13/9).
After conducting a state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President Joko Widodo and his entourage continued his state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for two days, Sunday and Monday, 13-14 September 2015.
When arriving at Abu Dhabi International Airport, President Joko Widodo was welcomed by the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan with a military ceremony. On that ceremony, the two leaders were standing together at the honorary podium to listening to the anthem of Indonesia and UAE.
After that, the two leaders inspected guard of honour and on that inspection they also saluted the national flag of the two countries.
President Joko Widodo, who was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Development Planning Agency Sofyan Djalil, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani, and Special Envoy of the President to the Middle East Alwi Shihab, had a lot of agenda, since his arrival until night.
After the welcoming ceremony, according to the member of Presidential Communication Team Sukardi Rinakit, in his press release on Sunday (13/9). President Joko Widodo did not leave airport area since several agenda were carried out at the Assembly Hall that was located at the airport area.
Several agenda of the President were leading the bilateral meeting between the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of UAE, having tête-a-tête meeting with the Crown Prince of UAE, and having a State Luncheon at Al-Maryah Island.
In the afternoon, in Emirates Palace Hotel, President Joko Widodo had One on One Meeting with the Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and attended a business meeting between the business people of Indonesia and UAE. After the business meeting the President carried out One on One Meeting with several business people of UAE and then at 9 p.m. local time, President Joko Widodo visited the field of Lulu Hypermart.
The third days agenda in the Middle East was ended with a visit to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. (MM/YM-Naster/Sy).
