As EEF Principal Guest of Honor, President Prabowo Subianto Marks Strategic Milestone in Vladivostok

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived at Vladivostok International Airport in the Russian Federation on Wednesday (9/2) at approximately 10:45 a.m. local time.

President Prabowo went to Russia in order to attend the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), held at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), as the principal guest of honor, following the invitation from President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

At the airport, President Prabowo was welcomed by Vice Governor of Primorye Region, Said Yusupov; and Minister of Foreign Relations of Vladivostok, Konstantin Sidorenko, of the Russian Federation; along with Indonesian Ambassador to the Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares; Defense Attaché to Russia, First Marshal Budi Susilo; and Honorary Consul in Vladivostok, Anton Zubkho.

President Prabowo’s presence marked the strengthening of relations between Indonesia and Russia in various sectors.  In particular, as the principal guest of honor, reflected the close ties between the two countries.

Back in 2025, President Prabowo also attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) as the principal guest of honor. This year, the President’s presence showed a continued commitment to Indonesia’s active participation in international economic forums.

Furthermore, the President’s visit to Vladivostok marked a strategic milestone in expanding cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, including the economy, trade, investment, and other potential areas.

Previously, the President and a small delegation took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta at approximately 11:20 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Accompanying the President on the flight to the Russian Federation were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
