The signing ceremony of ASEAN Declaration on One ASEAN, One Response: ASEAN Responding to Disaster as One in the Region and Outside Region on Tuesday (6/9), at National Convention Center, Vientiane, Laos

In the series of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Tuesday (6/9) at the National Convention Center, Vientiane, Laos, signed ASEAN Declaration on Disaster Response.

The event, which featured a theme “ASEAN Declaration on One ASEAN, One Response: ASEAN Responding to Disaster as One in the Region and Outside Region” marked the commitment of ASEAN Heads of States/Heads of Governments to respond disaster.

In the event, the Heads of States/Heads of Governments walked to a podium to sign the collective agreement that will be passed to Laos as the Host of the ASEAN Summit.

After the signing ceremony, they headed to Meeting Room 3 to meet the representatives of ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

President Jokowi and other ASEAN Leaders then carried on the agenda by meeting the representatives of young people and ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC).

The last agenda in the President’s schedule is a welcoming dinner to be held in Don Chan Palace, Vientiane, Laos.

First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Minister of  Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukito, and Head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong accompanied President Jokowi in the Summit. (EN/ES) (RAS/MMB/YM/Naster)
