ASEAN Summit: President Jokowi Hosts ASEAN Leaders at Welcoming Dinner

At the end of the first day of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Wednesday (05/10) hosted ASEAN leaders in a welcoming dinner at Ayana Komodo Waecicu beach, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara province.
On that occasion, President Jokowi welcomed ASEAN Leaders and the spouses, as well as invited guests. He also introduced Labuan Bajo as one of the most beautiful places in Indonesia.
“Hopefully, the natural beauty and the kindness of the local people here encourage us more to support ASEAN as a peaceful and stable region as well as an Epicentrum of Growth. And please, enjoy the dinner, enjoy Labuan Bajo, and enjoy the show,” the President remarked.
For the record, the ASEAN Leaders were served with pickled fruit as an appetizer, while for the main course themed “Taste of The Archipelago Sea”, the guests were served with dishes that includes lobster, Balinese red snapper, and oil rice along with several chili sauce. The delegates also savored coconut water as the dessert.
The dinner guests also enjoyed various performances that includes songs by local singers and vocal groups. The event concluded with the fireworks attractions. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/EP)
