ASEAN Summit: President Prabowo Arrives in Malaysia for Regional Talks on Inclusivity, Sustainability

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Malaysia on Sunday evening, May 25, 2025, to participate in the 46th ASEAN Summit, which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). The presidential aircraft touched down at the Subang Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Base at 7:20 PM local time.
Upon arrival, President Prabowo was warmly received by Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohammad Bin Sabu, along with senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Department, including Dato’ Rozainor, Chief of Ceremony. Also present were Rossy Vero, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, and Brigadier General Winarno, Indonesia’s Defense Attaché in Malaysia.
A Malaysian guard of honor formally welcomed the President and his delegation. Following the reception at the airport, President Prabowo proceeded directly to his hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
On Monday, the Head of State is scheduled to participate in several sessions of the 46th ASEAN Summit at the KLCC. His agenda includes the signing ceremony of the “Kuala Lumpur Declaration of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future.” Additionally, President Prabowo is planned to attend other related conferences and conduct bilateral meetings with leaders of several ASEAN member states and partner countries.
This year’s summit is held under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” President Prabowo’s participation underscores Indonesia’s continued commitment to play its central and proactive roles in the region. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat) (RY/LW).
