Asian Games 2018: Jafro Megawanto Wins Second Gold in Paragliding

Indonesian Paragliding team has secured the second gold medal after Jafro Megawanto won in accuracy (for men’s landing) in the competition held at Gunung Mas, Puncak, Cianjur, West Java Province, Thursday (23/8).

Jafro earned 27 points, outperforming the other 32 contestants, including Thailand’s athlete Jirasak Witeetham who ranked second with 47 points,and South Korea’s Chulso Lee who ranked third with 128 points.Another Indonesian athlete Joni Efendi participating  the same match was placed fifth.

With the addition of one gold medal from Jafro Megawanto, the Paragliding Team has bagged 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal. The first gold medal was won from men’s paragliding team in accuracy (for landing), and the silver medal from the Indonesian women’s paragliding team in the same number.

In addition to achievement from Eko Yuli, Indonesian contingent also clinched a bronze medal from rowers Julianti dan Yayah Rokayah in the women’s pairs rowing and a silver medal from Indonesian men’s team in the Lightweight Men’s Four (LM4-). Overall, Indonesia has so far collected 7 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze.  (*/ES) (RAS/EP/Naster)
