President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that as of today, approximately Rp12 trillion, out of the total Rp32 trillion allocated in the 2019 State Budget, is now available for 10 million beneficiaries of the Aspiring Family Program (PKH).

“The recipients of the 2019 PKH will get more funds compared to that of previous year. Last year it was Rp1,890,000 (per capita per annum), now the maximum amount is Rp9,600,000. Some recipients will get Rp3.7 million, Rp2.7 million or Rp.2.6 million,” President Jokowi told the journalists after launching the 2019 Aspiring Family Program (PKH) at the Ciracas Sports Center, East Jakarta, Thursday (10/1).

The President went on to say that the PKH is a vital instrument in poverty alleviation. He also expressed hope that the PKH recipients will be eventually financially independent.

President Jokowi further said that 200,000 recipients of the 2018 PKH have become financially independent and for this year, the Government sets a higher target (400,0000 recipients). (RSF/OJI/ES)
